Created by former marine biologist Stephen Hillenburg, Nickelodeon's hugely popular cartoon series SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS chronicles the wacky adventures of an overly enthusiastic sea sponge and his oceanic pals in the underwater town of Bikini Bottom.
