Though I am not an advocate of the Atkin's Diet unless it is followed with the guidance of a health professional, I do agree that most American's consume far too many carbohydrates in their diets.
I would not follow a very low carbohydrate diet unless I had to for health reasons, which is exactly what I am doing now.
For almost two months, I have been on a Candida Cleanse Diet.
What is a Candida Cleanse Diet?
Simply put, it is a regimen designed to rid the body of excess yeast that generally attacks the intestinal tract. (A certain amount is normal)
Since on this diet, I have lost 30 pounds and my health has improved dramatically.
I cannot say that it has been easy, but my love of cooking and being creative in the kitchen has helped immensely!
That is why products like Bragg's Liquid Amino's are so important.
I use this wonderful All Purpose Seasoning for, well just about everything.
What is Liquid Amino's?
It is an original formula made by Paul C. Bragg, America's Health Pioneer and originator of Health Food Stores. It is a delicious alternative to fermented, sugar or starch products, such as salad dressings and marinades. Liquid Amino's is made with vegetable protein from pure soybeans and purified water. This product contains no alcohol, coloring agents, additives or chemicals and it is not fermented like soy sauce. Fermented products are a no-no for anti-yeast dieters! It is even Kosher certified.
1/2 teaspoon contains:
2 calories
0 fat
200 mg carbohydrates
420 mg Protein
110 mg salt *
* The Bragg family states that no salt is added but that sodium occurs naturally. They suggest to water it down if salt is a concern. I have had no problems with the salt content.
16 essential and non-essential Amino Acids make up this formula. It is advertised as a gourmet alternative to Tamari and Soy Sauce.
It is excellent on salads, vegetables, fish, meats, in stir-fry, tempeh, soup and just about anything else that you cook or eat.
I travel with it everywhere I go, whether a restaurant or a friend's home for dinner.
The Bragg's even suggest recycling the spout cap. It can be used on vinegar bottles, etc.
I have seen this in every health food store that I frequent. The price varies. Expect to pay around $4.00 for a 16 oz. Bottle. I just purchased a 32 oz. Bottle for $5.49.
Some may find this expensive but it goes a long way, is excellent, keeps me on my diet and for those reasons, it is worth every penny.
