My experience with travelocity began when I used them to reserve tickets ( via e-ticket ) for a round trip flight from Cleveland to LA. I had selected the e-ticket option because I knew that trying to organize a place to have the tickets sent would be near impossible with my schedule. I received a confirmation for my ticket via email and was told that I simply had to show my ID at the America West counter in order to receive the boarding pass. When I arrived for the flight I was told that I should have been issued a paper ticket and so I couldn't board the flight. After spending well over 3 hours total on the phone (mostly on hold)with travelocity, a crummy solution was presented. I ended up having to drive to Columbus to catch a flight out of there to LA. The next flight that would get me to LA was at 6am the next morning ( Friday ). Had they been able to communicate a solution quicker I would have been able to take a flight out of the airport I was already at (Cleveland). The agreement was that travelocity would pay for the new flight to and from LA and would refund the original ticket (about $200). Apparently, the reason for the problem was that my original flight included a commuter flight out of Cleveland on a Continental express plane which couldn't be e-ticketed. So travelocity, in their grand wisdom, sent the ticket via fed-ex to my billing address. TRAVELOCITY NEVER CALLED OR E-MAILED ME TO TELL ME THIS EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD BOTH MY PHONE # AND EMAIL ADDRESS. It cost me 6hrs drive time to and from Columbus,$30 in gas,$40 long term parking, the embarrassment of being late to my business meeting, and one chipped tooth which I got at the airport in Columbus waiting for my flight to LA. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY REFUND FOR THE ORIGINAL TICKET. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE TO ANYONE..EVER.
