The Epinions Music Source is the home to the Epinions Music community, and all Epinions members are welcome to join! No matter what categories you may enjoy writing in, the Music Source is a great place where Epinions members discuss not just music and media related items, but also a wide variety of other topics such as sports, politics, religion, and many other things.
The Source is a moderated forum, maintained by Music Lead lambchops (Shelly) and her husband, and administered by Shelly and myself. We're a fairly liberal bunch - after all, it is a music board. The rules are pretty simple - play nice. You're free to air out your opinion as you wish, but don't attack people personally. The mods will act pretty quickly to shut anyone down who gets out of hand.

Since Somewhat Helpful reviews are now displayed publicly, and Epinions has updated it's ratings guidelines (with the assistance and input of the Category Leads, I might add), I'm adjusting my ratings again. Basically, I'm going to do my best to rate according to the posted guidelines. And here they are for your reading pleasure...
Not Helpful: No detail, opinion, or personal experiences provided. Overwhelmed by writing errors, inaccuracies or bad presentation. Offensive. Spam. Copied from another source. Breaks the User Agreement.
Somewhat Helpful: On-topic. Does not violate the User Agreement. Offers shoppers some detail or opinion. May have minor writing or presentation problems.
Helpful: Accurate and well-presented with helpful details about the subject of the review and an overall recommendation for shoppers.
Very Helpful: Exceptionally accurate and well-presented. Offers in-depth experiences and details about the subject. Thorough and well-organized. Expresses a clear recommendation for shoppers.
Most Helpful: The review stands out from other reviews of the same product as the best. Only Advisors and Category Leads can apply this rating, and it should only be used when more than one review is available for a specific subject.
Off Topic: The review is posted under the wrong subject.
If I feel your review meets some of the standards for one rating, and some of another, I will weigh these things together to come up with the final rate. In general, I will round down to the lower rate and may leave a comment suggesting what things might need to be addressed to improve the review.
