Hello! My name is Rob. I have been writing for Epinions since 1999. Many Epinions members have asked me what type of work I do, because of my travel schedule. Well, I work in the travel industry. And that's a great place for me to be in, because I love travelling - so much so that I opened my own cruise travel specialist agency in 2006, Cruise Holidays of Chicago - www.yourcruiseholidays.com.
A large part of my work is spent on the road, both in the US as well as overseas, yet I don't tire of exploring new places during my days off.
Destinations I travel to: Hawaii, Europe, Asia, Australia
My specialisation: cruise lines, hotels and destinations. I like the good life, so you will find a lot of information on four/five star hotels and some major destinations. And since I work in the travel industry, I know also how to get a great rate for a good hotel .
One of my 'weaknesses': I love spending time in health spas, for example the one at the Dead Sea in Jordan, basically: getting spoilt. Also important: excellent food!
And having lived in so many places, I can give you an in-depth review of major locations. My Member ID gives it away - I was born and bred in the Netherlands. Take a look at my epinion about Amsterdam or Maastricht, two of my favourite Dutch cities. I left the country when I was about 21 years old. Since then I lived in Asia (Hong Kong, Jakarta, Taipei, Macau) and Europe (France), but now live in the USA. Chicago is my 'new' home (and has been for about 18 years.) I love it here!
