ABOUT ME:
Recently my husband and I opened our own business named Bumble's Bears. We sell teddy bears of all kinds. That keeps my very busy, although I am also employed at a large hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. I work in interactive video.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln was my home since August 1995, which I entered my freshman year. After graduating in December 2000 (eons later) with my teaching degree in Social Studies, I did what any sane person would do before embarking full-tilt on a teaching career: I was a substitute. Either you love it or you hate it; I was definitely in the latter category. So I gave it up but stayed in college, this time as an Instructional Designer for online graduate programs.
I have been married for five years and am quite happy. I have two stepdaughters and two cats -- a good balance. I also got a Pomeranian recently from a rescue program, and he's been a wonderful light in my life.
Most of my reviews are about books. I can't help it -- I'm an addict. They are my escape, my relaxation therapy. No matter how bad my day has been, I can always count on a good book taking my mind off my misery and leaving me with a much-improved outlook on life. I don't often read for enlightenment or intellectual stimulation -- I get quite enough of that at work, thank you very much!
