I was once shy. And quiet. Hardly ever spoke. Yup. That lasted the first seventeen years (or so) of my life. Now I can't seem to stop talking, writing, communicating, etc. Making up for lost time? Maybe. Interested in hearing more? If you keep reading, that's what you'll get. You can turn back at any time . . .
My name is Kirsten, just like it says, and I always thought my Mom picked a really great name. I've always loved my name. As for my middle name, well, let's just say the initial M. will suffice.
I was born on April 17, 1964 in Frankfurt, Germany although all my family lived in Babenhausen, Germany. Babenhausen is very quaint and old world, cobblestone streets and everything. Anyway, when my Mom and Dad brought me back from the hospital -- what? Too much information? Okay . . .
I'm married to a guy named John. We've been married fifteen years and we've lived in Corpus Christi, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, Mandeville, Louisiana and currently we live in Katy, Texas. We'll be here for a long time and I'm glad. During these years we've been blessed with three boys. The oldest is thirteen-years-old followed by a nine-year-old and, last but not least, a nineteen-month-old (ages approximate because it would depend on when you read this versus when I wrote this). What were we thinking? Yep, I buy pimple cream and diaper rash ointment at the same time. But, we wanted it this way, believe it or not, and it's worked out fine. Besides, the oldest doesn't mind the extra money he makes babysitting and he even gets paid a little extra for dirty diapers. He's been a trooper.
During these years of Stay-at-Home Mommy-dom (STAY at HOME? riiiighttt), I've learned boucoups (that's New Orleans speak for "bunches") about kid stuff, any kind of manufactured item that can be smeared on, wiped off, ingested, digested, worn, thrown away, looked at, listened to, complained about or wondered why. I have way more things to say than time to say them, fortunately I can type fast.
I'm also at a sort of crossroads in my life right now (Read: Not a mid-life crisis!) in which I will be experiencing a very different atmosphere soon. I'm going to college! And, no, I probably won't run into Steve there, although it would be pretty cool if I did. We could sing all those Blues Clues songs that I've absorbed through osmosis. Anyway, my major will be Graphic Design. I am so looking forward to jumping in and getting busy. I'm not only a right-brainer with lots of creative energy but I'm also a computer geek wannabe.
In my spare time, ahem, or time I squeeze in when I'm really supposed to be doing laundry or something, I enjoy writing, drawing, painting, decorating, reading, walking, talking, a little free weight work out at the gym and eating, thus a little more free weight work out at the gym. I also like to find bargains on the internet and window shop at the malls. My husband laughs at this because I rarely look at just the windows. We have two cats, well, really three but the third one has moved into another home down the street and we only see her when she wants to be seen - the prima donna - but, never fear, we still supply her with vet visits, and we've named these cats after food groups: Snickers, Skittles and Twix.
Maybe this gives a little insight into the silly, smarty-pants woman that I've grown into over the years. Even so, I've got lots of things to say...
