About miselainis

Personal I'm a technical writer in telecommunications (at least until the next layoff!), and I'm married to a wonderful Canadian guy from the wilds of Alberta. We met over the internet. We're having lots of dogs and no kids. I want to see the world instead. Sadly, our cat Oreo passed away in October of 2003. To salve our broken hearts, we adopted a gorgeous Great Pyrenees, Fargo, from the Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue. He's my spoiled baby.
I love adult alternative music (everything from Elvis Costello & Neil Young to the Afghan Whigs and the Ramones). I enjoy reading, cooking, genealogy, gardening, decorating, traveling, and anything with the Ben and Jerry's label on it. I hate ignorance, Republicans, and brussels sprouts. I don't understand people who think Nickelback is a great band, and I can't fathom anyone NOT liking cilantro. I think I think Howard Dean is the best thing to happen to this country in a LONG time!
My ratings If you notice that many of my reviews are highly rated, just be aware that I mostly review items I have been pleased with. With books, movies, or music, if something is average or sub-par, I usually can't stay interested in it long enough to write a lengthy review.
My reviews are pretty self-explanatory. I have been giving VH's easily so far, only because I have been reading some great writers. If you do not provide me enough information about the product, or write in an incorrect category, I will lower the rating. Unless you participate in a nonviolent oh-so-important protest. In which case, I may want to buy you a beer instead.
Because I write and edit for a profession, I tend to get really irritated by grammatical mistakes, spelling errors, and not knowing when to use your or you're. But that's just me.
Haven't been epinioning in some time, kids. So Sorry! All my energies are now taken up with campaigning for my favorite presidential candidate! I'll write something soon. Perhaps a scathing review of Trent Lott's hairpiece or an essay on how much I hate Tom DeLay.
