I love to travel. Whether by air, sea, train, coach, car or even by foot -- I love to travel. When I am not traveling I am planning to travel. Brochures, reviews, articles, maps, travel memorabilia -- all fill my house. Half of the fun of travel is in the planning and expectations of travel.
England and Europe: I am English, and lived the first 30 years of my life in England. I was lucky enough to travel extensively throughout England, Scotland and Wales -- somehow I never visited Ireland. Naturally I have visited several countries in Europe -- Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic -- and I very much enjoy giving recommendations.
Asia: To satisfy long held dreams of distant lands, different cultures, and to be plain adventurous -- I have visited and toured India, probably the most fascinating and exciting country I have seen. My memories of visits to Hong Kong are equally colorful -- the crowded, fast paced, never sleeping, fun loving, high technology center of the world!
South America: Most recently Chile was my South American destination. I have also visited Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this had always been my number one destination. From the age of six I had dreamed of this place. Dazzling, scintillating, wild, the best place to party -- certainly at New Year's! Rio is the kind of place to change your life, a place you never forget.
USA and Mexico: I am now lucky enough to live in California, and I am just beginning to experience the USA, the sheer power and size is daunting! Also Mexico -- I have enjoyed visiting beach towns, and regularly travel there.
I have two favorite destinations: Mumbai (Bombay) - India, and Rio de Janeiro - Brazil. I don't have a least favorite destination, I try to appreciate the differences and I learn from these differences.
