About zenstar812

Update: 24 September 2005
Well, I am back again (do people actually read this stuff?) and hopefully back for longer than just a few months. All week long, I've been keeping tabs on the impending doom of Hurricane Rita and the possibility of it wiping out my old hometown of League City, Texas. It seemed surreal that the already congested I-45 became a temporary, overcrowded home to the residents living in those communities surrounding it. The news was filled with stories, many of them depressing, but perhaps the one that I viewed with a mixture of sadness and amusement is people actually getting out of their cars to converse with one another; dads and kids playing ball in the dividers; families picnicking on the side of the road. Amazing how tragedy pulls out of our shells and makes us realize how much we need each other. On that long stretch of highway from Galveston to Dallas...people became human. It's sad to know as a symptom of socialization, next week, it'll be back to business as usual...or will it?
Anyhow, I am sure I will write more about the above at a later date. As I am sure you know (for those that actually keep up with what is going on in my life), I tend to take a long hiatus and then come back to writing on this site. I never leave because I have issues with someone here or involve myself with the politics and stupidity that can go on in an online forum. I write here when it pleases me to do so and I keep my web of trust short and sweet because when I do get on here to read-I usually read a little of everyone's opinion in my WOT. Then I check out some new people who have taken the time to read and rate my work.
The people who are currently in my web of trust are people who's reviews I think are interesting, funny, and valid. That, and they seem to be pretty likeable people-those to whom I would say, "Come over, have a cup of coffee and tell me what's going on in your life." From LoisLane05 to Caffeinatedyak to Stockholder scratching his balls and Telynor with her intellectual perspective on books and the few others in my WOT.
My WOT in essence is those people whom I have dedicated my reading time. If your WOT is too big, how can you really commit yourself to everyone in it? That is my rule of thumb. I've been a member for 5 1/2 years and I come here simply because I have a great time. When it all comes down to it, the WOT is sort of like a popularity contest and in my opinion, popularity is highly overrated...here today and gone tomorrow.
How do I rate? Same as always-if you've written an opinion of something in a clear, concise manner and you've made me laugh or kept my interest, you will get a good rating. If you haven't done that, then you simply won't get a good rating. It's really pretty simple.
Now I am off to the great mecca of Epinions to revel in the written word. I bid you fond farewell and hope that you will enjoy reading my opinions as much as I enjoy reading yours. Blessings and beautiful joy to you always!
