Ordered Mobo+Chip Thursday, paid for 3-day express shipping, received today, Wednesday (untested yet, reason follows). I had ordered a Black ATX Window case from them in May 2003, which has been sitting, unopened, in my office. On opening, the 4 front panel stubs for holding the panel in place are all snapped off. The cardboard box is undamaged, so it must have been shipped in this condition. I will not be ordering from Compgeeks ever again.
Now there's more. Yesterday, I went out and bought another case (without power supply), so I removed the power supply from the Compgeeks case, hoping to salvage at least something, and put it in my new case. Guess what? After 2 hours messing about with mobo/RAM/wiring I discovered the power supply is BAD! Putting a spare I had into my new case solved the problem. Caveat emptor!

The best selection of cheap hardware. Great deals pop up on a weekly basis. I check here first for parts I need to fix, upgrade or build home computers. All my orders have always been fulfilled promptly and correctly- I've never had to return merchandise or otherwise follow up on an order.

A great store!

They don't generally have the latest and greatest stuff but if you are looking for a cheap enclosure for a hard drive or a nice optical mouse they are a great place to look. They have some amazing bargains on surplus or just slightly outdated hardware.

I've ordered a ton of stuff from them over the last few years. I work at a school as the IT person and have purchased a lot of networking hardware and a ton of mice from them over the years and have never had a negative experience with them.

I completed an order for a digital camera before noticing that the camera I had ordered was refurbished.

The page that the camera was on only stated that it was refurbished in the disclaimer. However, the link to the camera from their website clearly stated that it was refurbished. I didn't see this page because I had linked to the camera directly from another website.

When I discovered my error, I immediately sent in a request to cancel the order, explaining why. The next morning, just to be safe, I also called in and talked to someone. The person on the phone said that the order would be put on hold and then canceled. I shortly received an email in response to my first query saying the same thing.

A day later I received an email saying the order was canceled. The order was never shipped and my credit card was never charged. Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the experience, especially since it wasn't entirely their fault that I ordered the wrong camera.

Ordered 3 32X64NB100-N PC100 notebook memory, expecting them to be industry standard or at least compatible. Arrived quickly, but these sodimms use PC 133 Infineon hi-density chips and WILL NOT even POST in IBM Thinkpads T-21 and 600E, Dell Inspiron 7500, or Micron Transport ZX, very standard PC100 machines. Emailed 2 days for an RMA, no response, then on hold 25 minutes on non-800 #, told by tech support that I'd recieve REFUND. RMA email arrives and it's an in-store credit..now I have to buy something I don't want from them since they now have my money. NOT SATISFACTORY, since memory is clearly no good and improperly advertised. Will never buy from again or recommend to anyone, a shabby way to do business.

I ordered a gadget almost two weeks ago from comp geeks and it had not arrived still, so I checked the order status. Well, it said it had been delivered to my front door. Long story short - FedEx delivered to the wrong house or somebody stole it, who knows - I called comp geeks. Here's the good part: I called and they immediately picked up. A real person! I was stunned because I was expecting "please press one if you want to blah and two if you want blah." Five minutes later they had an order placed to ship a replacement gadget and they will file the claim with FedEx. I don't have to worry about anything. I was so impressed I really don't know what else to say. If it had been any other retailer, I would 1) still have been on the phone and 2) probably not received a replacement with lightning speed. Just my $0.02 on our friendly geeks.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!!!!

Product arrived non-functional 9/26. Shipped back to this useless retailer 9/29. Never heard a word. Called 10/20 - they have no replacement, refunded purchase only REFUSED TO REFUND THE PRICE I PAID TO HAVE JUNK SHIPPED TO ME.

So I got no service, no product, spent a month hassling with them, AND GOT TO PAY TO SHIP BOTH WAYS.

Avoid them like the plague. Bad service, crap product, no help.

I do the buying for a medium sized business, shop online daily - and this is among the worst experiences I've had.

Look elsewere - don't be fooled by these scum bags.

I started buying from Computer Geeks because they are within driving distance for me, they offer a Will Call option, so I figured that I could always return the item in person if I was not satisfied--a nice option with an online dealer. I've never had to return anything, despite purchasing odd-ball and refurbished items that I had no direct experience with.

The site provides a nice, uncluttered view of the items with direct links to the manufacturer's sites. The prices are among the best, if not always the absolute lowest, but the fact that they deliver promptly and I've never received a damaged unit counts for a lot.

I highly recommend them--if you can find what you want.

I am very frustrated with compgeeks.com. Some time ago, I bought some laptop memory from them. The first module that they shipped didn't work. That's alright, I called them, and they were polite and helpful and told me to ship the bad memory back to them. A couple of weeks later, I recieved a second memory module from them, but it didn't work again!

I understand that people make mistakes, but I did expect them to test the second module if the first one didn't work. So I wrote them an email complaining, after which I god a quick response that somebody will address the issue within 48 hours. I waited for about a week, and nobody got back to me. I will give them a couple of more days, and will call them than.

I am not sure if this is their usual practice, or if I simply had bad luck with them, but I will try to get my money back (or good memory), and unless they really apologize and somehow compensate for my lost time and money (it costs me money to ship bad product back), I will definetely not do business with them ever again.

This store is a disaster. Or you may call it a lottery. I lost. I ordered FSB 400 processor, and they sent me 533. Now I've sent them two e-mails, and got no response. If you like to put your money, time and nerves on stake - this is a merchant for you!

They are supposed to be refunding the shipping charges, so we'll see if it happens. It's a neat place to shop, I used them twice before without a problem, but when something goes wrong, they just don't seem to know how to deal with it properly. I may? use them again in the future?

Bad experience. I ordered a Nascar pro force feedback wheel, but got a much cheaper non-feedback wheel after one week's waiting. And even more, the clamp of the wheel is missing!
I email the customer service because they don't have a 800 number, got no reply after one day. Then I call them for a RMA, it was noisy over there, and the guy got impatient when I insisted to return the wheel.
Be careful, they are selling nonexistent stuffs and then try to cheat you with something else.

Prompt shipping, responsive and knowledgeable technical support, a good place to purchase refurbished, used and generic Tech supplies at rock-bottom prices. I've purchased from Computer Geeks several times over the past 4 years and have been pleased with the service and overall condition of the items. I've made 2 warranty returns and have received prompt action and adjustments.

These guys really treat you right, I ordered a wireless game pad. It was like 15.00 with shipping. No biggie, so I thought I would try It. When it arrived I found out that the pad sticks or thumb controls would not operate correctly. Tried everything to get it to work, finally I gave up, And just for the heck of it I called them just to see if there was anything that they could do. They said that they would send out another one at no cost. They were friendly and asked the right questions to determine the problem. Top notch customer service. There product prices are sometimes a little higher than everyone else, but you have to just keep checking in because sometimes they'll surprise ya. Also some of the hardware is a little older, but like I said you have to continuely check them out. They have some really neat stuff.

Prompt delivery & they don't overcharge for it, but rarely if ever free shipping... As pointed out by other reviewers, they do sell a lot of cheapie defective products. Usually it's the novelty items that are problematic, I've had mostly good luck with their name-brand PC components. I don't buy too much from them since they did away with their in-house online auction because I usually find better prices at newegg.com and pcconnection.com plus these retailers often offer free or greatly discounted shipping.

I believe Geeks also owns WholesaleAuction.com and Evertek.com; which are supposedly 'wholesale'.. kind of a joke, most items on these sites are equal to or higher than retail prices....

On customer service, they are ok, but if the item has an intermittant problem and they don't catch it in their brief tests no refund or exchange and you're out shipping ..I've had this issue with an expensive video card and a DVD-RW ..

Easy to order, prices are usually very good, 1-2 day turn around on shipping, no call required to confirm. I've been ordering from them for a couple years now, but only just now joined epinion.

Been buying from the Geeks for a few years. It's a great experience as long as you don't have to deal with customer service. I've received three bad items and have had horrible experience with their customer service. The last item was poorly packaged and was completely broke when I received it.

I sent multiple emails to customer service over 10 days before they called me instead of replying. I had to return the call, answering many questions which I already had over the email. After giving them the same info on the phone, they put me on hold for 20 minutes, which I gave up. They've called me again, but again I wasn't home.

They seem unconcerned to resolve the issue and are finding ways to avoid just sending me the $12 item. Take my advice and spend a little more somewhere else.

I ordered a Sony DVD external burner from Computergeeks.com. The price was fair although the shipping was costly. It arrived in good time from Fedex. Inside the Fedex box, it looked like the company shipping department was in a hurry. The plastic cover on the burner was scratched. The software CD was completely cracked. I emailed them immediately and described the problem. It has been a week and a half and they have not responded.
I recommend you stay away from this company. I have seen other reviews of their service and most are not good. DO NOT BUY FROM COMPUTERGEEKS.COM.

Purchased a laptop, found out it was refurbished, refused shipment, they are trying to charge me a restocking fee despite the fact that the product was A) Never opened B) Never received package (FedEx left at my door and sent package back without me ever touching the package).
