Ordered dry-erase board to be delivered. Didn't show up next day as they said it would, so I waited another day. When it still didn't arrive, I checked online and it said my order was "short shipped". I did not receive any notification by phone or e-mail.

Poor customer service

I ordered an mp3 player through their online store. A few days (maybe 3) later, status online said "Delivered", however, UPS never came. I called customer service and was told that the item was out of stock, therefore it will be cancelled and the charges on my credit card reversed. A few more days went by, I checked my CC account online and no credit processed, called OD Customer service and told that the mp3 was "Delivered" . I told them it was not and I was suppose to be given a refund. Rep. told me that she will put the request for the refund through again, which will take 8-10 working days to process. I wanted to talk to a manager and was told that "they are in an important meeting" and weren't available. I probably would not buy from this store again.

How long till they're out of business????

Horrible experience. Plastic file box shows up from their warehouse not over-packed. it was broken in a number of places. Customer service folks barely speak English and have terrible time figuring out what is going on in their own systems. One product was backordered and after three weeks I called customer service to find out the product was canceled by Office Depot. The rep (who barely spoke English) asked if I wanted to reorder. I bailed out and had enough at that point.

Their follow-up on their rebates is a joke - unfortunately at the customers expense

Buying product was easy, they couldn't wait to take my money. But the rebate that they offered on the computer that I bought is a nightmare. They "mistakenly" rejected my mail-in rebate. And nothing would have been done if I did not call after 4 weeks. I was on hold for over 1/2 hour. This is what you can expect from them.

Excellent product line with good customer service and competitive prices. Products ship quickly and accurately. They also usually offer some deal to cut or eliminate shipping costs so you are getting it right to your door for free.

Best rebate experience

I am very happy with Office Depot's rebate service so decided to write a review for them. I bought a PC and mailed off a rebate request for $190. Compared to my prior experience with COMPUSA where I had to call their rebate center many times and waited 5 months before getting my rebate check, Office Depot gave me no headache at all. I got the their rebate and the manufacturere's within 7 weeks after mailing them off. They must have better computer systems or something so that their rebate works so much smoother than Compusa. I still shop at Compusa but I don't dare buying anything that requires a rebate. But when Office Depot offers a rebate, I will definitely trust them again!

Rebate Scammers Extraordinaire

Rebate Scam! BEWARE.
It's now 97 days since they received my completed form and other necessary paperwork. All information states that rebates will be paid within 60-90 days. Now they tell me to wait another four weeks. Does anybody think i'm going to buy anything else from this company? Stick to reliable vendors, and go for the instant savings, not Office Depot Scams.
Incidently, the entire process of this purchase was a mess compared to dealing with other online merchants. Fouled up order, credit card charged for items not purchased. Next to no shipment tracking information available. Was called on the phone early on a monday morning to tell me my delivery would arrive on thursday which was 2 days later than promised. But they couldn't tell me the carrier. Delivery actually arrived on Tuesday, as originally promised, but I had relied on their information it would arrive on Thursday so i missed the delivery.
Just avoid this company. They hold your rebate for eons.

AWFUL customer service

AWFUL!!!!! I ordered a printer and was told it would be delivered by 12/6/06. I did not receive by 12/8, so I called customer service and was told they were out and did not know when they would have it in. They admitted that they had not sent any notification of that fact. Don't order anything you need by a certain date - they don't care!

Caveat: They have limited areas to which they deliver (near Office Depot stores), at least for the free delivery.

I had ordered a set of headphones that I needed as a present a few weeks in advance because the website said that it would need to be ordered. Initially, they emailed to say they had placed the order & charged my card. After 1 week, they emailed again & decided that they couldn't get the headphones. By then, they had already charged my card. I called them & they claimed that they would not charge the card, which was fixed. A month later, another charge appeared on my card for the headphones that I never received. I had to call the company again to tell them they had charged me for something I never purchased.
I was extremely disappointed in their lack of service & incompetence in dealing with a simple order that I will never again order from them.

Shop at Office Depot all the time, online, in the store - and have NEVER had any of the problems that others have written about - yes, I have had to return an item or two and have had no problems getting a new item or getting funds returned. Their workplace rewards program is just great! We have saved a lot of money for our small business.

The most awful experience shopping online EVER!

Do NOT shop at Office Depot online! The free delivery is NOT free. The merchandise will NOT be delivered on the day on which is promised. You have to be home to sign for it, but the delivery man will not ring the bell, he will leave a note. Will not let you know when they will or will not attempt delivery again. The Customer Service guy is probably in Sri Lanka and has no idea where the merchandise is coming from and what's happening. He will tell you that they have to contact their "research team" and you will get call from them. Not! I shop for everything online and have received merchandise from as far away as New Zealand. In 11 years on the Internet I have never had a more unpleasant experience. As nice and decent as the stores are, you would expect a similar service online. Not so! Anybody who shops them online is looking for serious problems. Don't do it. Unless you are not working and have days and days for waiting for delivery.

I ordered the HP Notebook from OfficeDepot.Com on Thanksgiving. I was suppose to get it last week, but NOTHING! Today is the 8th and they guaranteed 3 days shipping. Its been 11 days since I ordered the notebook. I have checked my order online and it still says pending. There is no tracking number or anything. I called 3 times and they said "oh someone will call you tomorrow from 8:30-11." I recieved no such phone call. Customer service reps were unhelpful and give you attitude. The customer reps can't do anything, only make dumb little notes. When you call other companies they have all the information on their fingertips. Officedepot has different departments and whatever whatever. DO NOT SHOP ONLINE!
