WILL NEVER USE AGAIN......

Call with concerns that a flight was delayed and having to make a connecting flight in another city. I was told there was no issue and that the girl that was flying alone would be able to still board at 5:40 pm flight, Orbitz made that statement 4 different times. When the girl got to the gate at 5:40 the airlines had shut the door and would not let her board because boarding had ended at 5:30. When contacting Orbitz I was told the airlines would handle getting her on another flight. Orbitz did nothing to help, the customer service is the worst. They have no issue with stranding a girl with no money in another city

Buyer beware when dealing with Orbitz

My first hotel experience from Orbitz cost me $25 extra. I am an experienced travel industry professional and yet I booked my hotel reservation for next month instead of this month. I've heard similar stories from others that I know. Orbitz must be raking in the money from cancellation fees.
I used the little calender icon on the Orbitz website to book my hotel stay at Trump Casino in Atlantic City. Imagine my surprise when I got there and found that I'd booked December instead of November. Like I said, I have over 20 years as a travel professional with a major airline. I don't make this kind of mistake. This time I did. My wife said that she's had many of her coworkers say they have had the same problem. I wrote to Orbitz and I received a form letter restating the policy. I could push this issue but they will only say, "Why didn't you check the dates before booking?" I know they's say that because I've said the exact same thing to customers.
So, they got my money. Don't let them get yours. Caveat Emptor when dealing with them.

convenient but expensive

In general the hotel process of finding and booking a room was quite convenient on Orbitz. However when I needed to cancel the room the next day, still 2 weeks from planned arrival date I was advised of a $25 cancellation fee. When I pressed I was told it was the 'Hotel's policy', in this case the Days Inn. However communication with Days Inn confirmed it was NOT their policy to charge a cancellation fee, unless you are a no show on the day of planned arrival. I travel 20% of the time. Orbitz is no longer an option I will exercise when booking my travel.

I must update this review. It looks like my email address was not sold, but rather stolen. This is not a good sign for their security skills, but I am not nearly as angry with them as I was.

I booked a hotel through Orbitz. When I showed up at the hotel, they had no record of the reservation, so I had to pay the hotel directly.
When I got home, I tried to get my money back from Orbitz. (they debit your credit card immediately when you make the reservation) After 4 phone calls, each involving about 30 minutes of phone menus, waiting on hold, switching back and forth between service representatives and assurances that my credit card would be credited for the disputed amount, I gave up on them and called my credit card company to dispute the charge. All this to save maybe $10 less than booking with the hotel directly.
Never again!

Pack a Lunch!

Buyer Beware! - IF everything goes as planned with no changes at your level or at the airlines, Orbitz is fine. BUT, once a change has to be made make sure you have packed a lunch! Wait times of 90+ minutes overall are not uncommon to talk to a "real" person (make sure your phone battery is charged); be prepared to recite your problem ad nauseam; and, should you happen to get cut off after waiting forever on hold, don't expect to have Orbitz CS call you back, even though you have had to supply your home phone number as security several times!

Worst online ticket agent!

I had a very bad experience with Orbitz this summer. Due to th e change of my travel plan, I cancelled my airticket a month before the scheduled travel date with Northwest via Orbitz. I was told no refund for the cancellation even I agree to pay the penalty. The ticket cost my ~$700. It became my lesson. I won't use Orbitz in the future for sure.

Horrible customer service, took money and didn't deliver

TERRIBLE experience with Orbitz! I prepaid a hotel for a vacation, and it didn't work out at all. I had to pay the hotel and try to get a refund from Orbitz. It took on average 25 minutes on hold for each of the numerous calls to Orbitz Customer Service, and each time it was clear they were starting from square one and weren't working on it at all, despite being told each time we would get a call back with news/results. I finally went to the Better Business Bureau and the next day got a partial refund. When I inquired about the difference, they said it was for their profit. I can't believe they think they earned their profit for this one, but I can tell you that I will spend all of my travel money somewhere else and relay this story to anyone who says they want to use them.

Orbitz has no interest in helping the customer with special needs

Orbitz had me on hold for over 1 hour before disconnecting me for the 4th time! I have had a flight credit with them for some time, but the flight credit department is the only place to book flights. This department had absolutely no interest in helping me. I guess they figured they already had my money so they didn't need to help me. Goodbye Orbitz!

Very BAD experience with Orbitz...The customer service is disgusting and is not at all helpful!!One day before our departure for Orlando, we were told that the hotel that we booked on Orbitz DOES NOT have a shuttle to Disney whereas the Orbitz website DID say that there was a shuttle!! Pls do not rely on Orbitz website for ANY of ur Hotel or other bookings for your trips !! And above all we were told by the Orbitz Customer Service rep. that"We do not take any responsibilty for what's on our website"!!No options were offered to us and we had to book another hotel at 12 ish ,the night before leaving!!

Unfair cancellation policy

I booked a hotel room on-line for our family. As soon as it went through, I noticed that it listed 1 person, not the 3 adults and 1 child in our party. I immediately called Orbitz and after being put on hold a long time on a shaky connection, was informed that I would be charged $25 because they needed to cancel the reservation and book a new one.
I told them I wouldn't be using Orbitz anymore -- obviously.

I have been using orbitz...believing that when something goes wrong this will be a good service to look back at...but in vain, the customer service representative Ms. Leno from orbitz and primarily orbitz had turned their face at right time. I would recommend not to buy any airline tickets...unless you risk at your own

I truly love Orbitz. I've booked a few dozen of hotels and a handful of flights with them, always at lowest prices. I try to use many different websites, and consistently, orbitz contains the lowest prices with minimum ease of ordering.
Truth be told, most of the complaints can be remedied by: "Buyer beware." So long as you read each purchasing detail, and know exactly what you're purchasing, there will be no problems. Every customer service encounter I've had with them has been pleasant, and have always received cordial phone calls in case something doesn't fit right (such as a lost credit card number between hotel and Orbitz).

Orbitz.com is out to rip you off!

As far as customer satisfaction is concerned, Orbitz's customer service reps and managers are incompetent when it comes to flight cancellation/rescheduling. They are out to rip you off. I spent 2 and 1/2 hours on the phone with three different Orbitz staff including a manager and still paying additional fees of $130 on top of $206 refundable ticket. They told me I had a nonrefundable ticket. In fact this ticket was book over the phone the previous day by one of their agents who specifically told me that there was no nonrefundable tickets available.
My advice is stay away from Orbitz. Instead, make your online purchases directly from an airline. That way your problems can easily resolved by a brick-and-mortar company.

Orbitz customer service will not resolve a mistake done on their part. I called to cancel a reservation however, the customer service person canceled the wrong reservation. Once my credit card bill showed up, there was a charge appearing for the hotel reservation that I canceled. I have contacted Orbitz several times to correct the problem....they will not take ownership of their mistake and credit me back the charge on my credit card, which is fradulant and illegal
BUYER BEWARE......I will never shop Orbitz again and will spread the word for BUYER BEWARE.
