I ordered an HP Officejet d-145 all-in-one. The unit was in stock as indicated. I got it for the indicated price ($287 refurbished) and the indicated shipping ($32). (It did upset me that they charged $5 shipping for the 3 year warranty extension I purchased -- especially since it arrived a few days later in an envelope with a $0.37 stamp on it!) The price was far less than any of the other (unrefurbished) d-145s I could find, but the shipping was on the high side of "fairly reasonable." It arrived two days ahead of schedule. Everything that was supposed to be in the box was, and was in "like new" shape. The d-145 works great. Except for the extended warranty shipping charge, I am a very happy customer, and will probably make the Refurb Depot my first stop the next time I am shopping office equipment. Read more

after waiting 4 days I called for shipping status of my order and they said it would ship out later today or tomorrow. I called each day after that (total 2 weeks) and get the same answer each time. I have yet to receive the product. The only reason I have not cancelled the order is that no one else can touch the price for level of product. Read more

I cancelled my order with refurb depot: 1. The merchant delayed my order because it claimed my secondary address was not verified when my bank said that it was. (I have items mailed to this address all the time with no problem) 2. Customer service waited four days before contacting me with information about a delay. (I was also paying for 2 day air because I was depending on receiving this camera for business purposes) 3. I would not recommend that ANYONE order ANYTHING from this company under ANY circumstances. I ordered a Compaq laptop computer from this company on Feb. 1. I ordered 5 day shipping because I needed it by Feb. 9, and it was supposed to ship within 24 hours. Two days later I called to check on the status and was told that the laptop I ordered was out of stock, but they should be able to ship it any day and they would expedite the shipping. To make a long story short, I called almost daily to check on the status and was continually promised that the product would be shipped. Finally, long after I needed to have received the laptop (I have been having to rent one), I was told that they didn't know when the laptop would come in, but they would ship me a slightly nicer one at a slightly increased price that day. I agreed. When I checked on the status two days later I was told that they didn't have that laptop in stock either, but they should have it in a few days. When I finally received the "nicer" laptop (which I received over half a month after I had originally placed my order and which had not been sent by expedited shipping as was promised), I discovered that the hard drive was corrupted. This was after 5 hours of attempting to install the software that came with the computer and 3 lengthy telephone conversations with customer support people in India. The next day I contacted RefubDepot and was told that I could send the computer back and receive a refund or replacement. As I needed the laptop some time ago and could not wait any longer for this company to get their act together, I advised them that I would like a REFUND. They said they would pay for shipping and would e-mail a "return number" to me that day. They sent the return number a week later with a letter that said when they received the package they would issue a REPLACEMENT. I contacted the company and assured them that I was not interested in a replacement. When I went to ship the faulty computer back (in the same shape that it was received and in the same packaging), I was told that the return number I was given did not have pre-paid postage, and therefore I would have to pay for shipping. So, a month later, after having wasted a ridiculous amount of time and money with this company, I have absolutely nothing to show for it. I have sent the computer back, but I fully expect to continue to have problems with RefurbDepot (i.e. having problems with my account being credited.) I write this review only to save some poor soul from having to go through the same ordeal I just did. Selling a refurbished product is no excuse for RefubDepot's substandard customer service and complete lack of accountability. Read more

I purchased a reburbished digital camera. Even though the web site proclaimed it was as good as buying new, it arrived without a lense cap, camera strap, or batteries. It had advertised it came with batteries. Customer service acted like it was ridiculous to assume that a camera would come with a lense cap unless it was specifically advertised to come with it. I felt it should have been advertised that it DID NOT come with a lenses cap. Refurb Depot would offer no assistance in resolving the problem--not even an apology even though they knew all the cameras of this model were like this (the mfg clearly stated it on the box). It cost an extra $20 to purchase the lense cap & strap from the manufacturer. Read more

I purchased the camera online on 12/28/03. On 12/29/03 I received an email from Refurb Depot that confirmed my order and gave me a link to the tracking info at the UPS website. It all went very smoothly. I even had a relatively good experience with customer service when I called in to check my account information. I waited less than 1 minute. They were pleasant and helpful but a little rushed. All in all, a very good experience and I would be willing to take a shot with these folks again, especially considering the price. Read more
