I placed an order online for white internal bilge paint and got grey. I swear I ordered white on their website but all records show grey. So it is possible it's my fault but I really don't think so as I was sure I ordered white. Trying to exchange the grey for white with them now. Worst shopping experience I have ever had in my life. I ordered a trolling motor in April 2006 to ship in 7 to 14 days. Okay, I guess I can wait that long. Order placed-- 14 days later not shipped, called and was told by someone I could hardly understand (boy was that an experience, thought I was in another country)2 more weeks to ship, darn. Not happy but waited this long so---- okay. Four weeks, not shipped, Same deal. Called-- now it's only 2 to three more weeks out, YEEHAW, ain't this fun!!!! I have waited 5 weeks now to ship. Whilst BoatersWorld advertise that in Busy periods "They will ship articles in three days", It was eight days before I received an e-mail telling me the item that I ordered was out of stock!! However their website continued to advertise the item, for a further seven days. That in my opinion is unethical.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Ever. Boat seats that were supposed to be shipped in 5-10 business days were still not shipped 7 weeks later. Repeated calls to customer service did no good- they kept making up new (imaginary?) ship dates and I beleived them. Had to cancel the order- seats ordered two weeks before Memorial Day weekend were not to be expected until August?? C'mon!!! Could have used that information back in May, folks. I asked them to substitute ANY comparable seat and they could not even comply; one customer service representative told me that they had no seats to ship anyway and I was "one in a long line of irate customers." Supervisors were completely useless/impressively incompetent and they like to put you on hold and hang up on you alot- always fun.
I strongly suggest NOT buying anything from them unless you really like waiting for stuff that may not ever arrive and enjoy hold music.
To wrap it up, if I had a big, shiny trophy to award to a company for the worst customer service ever I would award it, without hesitation, to "Boatersworld.com".
My customer service experience was HORRIBLE. I am a frequent internet buyer and have never experienced worse customer service. After placing my order for a garmin depth sounder I recieved an email indicating that I needed to call the company to fulfil my order. After waiting on hold for 10 minutes with elevator music that drifted in and out as if the phone had disconnected I was routed to a 3rd party customer service agency with a non-native english speaker who had no idea what boatersworld.com even was for the first minute of the conversation. After this episode it took another 10 minutes of waiting on hold to finally resolve a simple online order. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN.

I will never shop from here again. I placed an order in June, am still waiting for it to arrive in October..... very hard to get in contact with customer service and very little help offered to rectify the problem. Am unable to find product elsewhere so I find myself compelled to wait for it to arrive. Very poor customer service.

I do not recommend ordering on-line from this company. Their ad about free shipping on orders over $100 is not correct. I placed an on-line order and all through my checkout and even to the confirmation page, I was told shipping would be free. When I got my order I was charged $15.90 shipping and handling. They said it was because the item I ordered was a "Limited Special" item and it carried shipping charges. No where once I added this item to my shopping cart did it say it was a 'Limited Special' item and shipping charges would apply. There is a note under their ordering info about shipping being charged on certain items, but once you put that item in your cart, the shipping should show up and it does not. I believe it is false advertising to show the shipping charges as 'free' if indeed that is not the case. I you want to order from them, I suggest ordering over the phone.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH!!!Worst online & purchasing experience ever!! Poor customer service, you are dealing with someone on the other side of the world who cares zero about your order. After placing order and them guaranteeing when they would ship and paying extra for overnight delivery, I received messages that the order would ship within 1 business day. When I called to confirm, they didn't care about my shipping and tried to telemarket more services to me to guarantee that my original order would ship. Then I cancelled the order and they told me it would take 10-14 days to put the amount back on my card, which was a very large amount of money (in excess of $2,000)WORST EVER!!!!! How do they stay in business???

In Nov 07, my son ordered a $50.00 gift certificate for Xmas, in Apr I was sent a $75 certificate (after several emails). I made my order and it was confirmed for 2 vest less the $75.00.
Later I was sent 1 vest, and I was charged full price. I emailed and had to make 3 phone calls, and I had to ask for help from a supervisor to finally get the correct order at the correct price. Read more

I tried to purchase a water pump for a boat that the University Of Florida owns, I have puchased in the past with a University P-card.
For some unknown reason boaters world now needs the billing zip code for this P-card.
I work at a sattelite camous so I have no Idea what the billing zip code is,and trying to talk to someone in my entity that knows anything is like pulling teeth.
So....I went to west marine and I got my stuff in a very timely and professional manner.I have also talked to the Director of my campus about suspending ALL spending with boaters world.we shall see what happens.

The BoatersWorld online order page permitted me to pay approx. $38 for delivery on Saturday (overnight delivery, which I needed). The order did not arrive until the next Tuesday. Customer Service could only reduce shipping by $10 when I did not receive the order as I needed.
I could have driven 60 miles and purchased the items for $40 less and had the order on time!

Ordered the item, was advised of 1 wk backorder. Received confirmation of order, name was spelled wrong so phone call needed to correct that. (name was clearly spelled to operator at time of order, operator difficult to understand due to foreign accent)Recontacted in 1 wk, was advised item still on backorder and 'customer service' was unable to provide any time frame and refused to check further and refused to connect/ forward me to a supervisor.
