I also have not had a great experience with Boatersworld.com.
I placed an order online for white internal bilge paint and got grey. I swear I ordered white on their website but all records show grey. So it is possible it's my fault but I really don't think so as I was sure I ordered white. Trying to exchange the grey for white with them now. Still waiting to see how they assist me or don't assist me.

Worst shopping experience I have ever had in my life. I ordered a trolling motor in April 2006 to ship in 7 to 14 days. Okay, I guess I can wait that long. Order placed-- 14 days later not shipped, called and was told by someone I could hardly understand (boy was that an experience, thought I was in another country)2 more weeks to ship, darn. Not happy but waited this long so---- okay. Four weeks, not shipped, Same deal. Called-- now it's only 2 to three more weeks out, YEEHAW, ain't this fun!!!! I have waited 5 weeks now to ship. Oh look, whats this? Same trolling motor? Free Shipping? $89.00 less? Boatersworld.com you just lost me never to see me again!!!! I wish there was A minus check mark you could give them. Whilst BoatersWorld advertise that in Busy periods "They will ship articles in three days", It was eight days before I received an e-mail telling me the item that I ordered was out of stock!! However their website continued to advertise the item, for a further seven days. That in my opinion is unethical.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Ever. Boat seats that were supposed to be shipped in 5-10 business days were still not shipped 7 weeks later. Repeated calls to customer service did no good- they kept making up new (imaginary?) ship dates and I beleived them. Had to cancel the order- seats ordered two weeks before Memorial Day weekend were not to be expected until August?? C'mon!!! Could have used that information back in May, folks. I asked them to substitute ANY comparable seat and they could not even comply; one customer service representative told me that they had no seats to ship anyway and I was "one in a long line of irate customers." Supervisors were completely useless/impressively incompetent and they like to put you on hold and hang up on you alot- always fun.

I strongly suggest NOT buying anything from them unless you really like waiting for stuff that may not ever arrive and enjoy hold music.

To wrap it up, if I had a big, shiny trophy to award to a company for the worst customer service ever I would award it, without hesitation, to "Boatersworld.com".

My customer service experience was HORRIBLE.  I am a frequent internet buyer and have never experienced worse customer service.  After placing my order for a garmin depth sounder I recieved an email indicating that I needed to call the company to fulfil my order.  After waiting on hold for 10 minutes with elevator music that drifted in and out as if the phone had disconnected I was routed to a 3rd party customer service agency with a non-native english speaker who had no idea what boatersworld.com even was for the first minute of the conversation.  After this episode it took another 10 minutes of waiting on hold to finally resolve a simple online order.  I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN.

I will never shop from here again. I placed an order in June, am still waiting for it to arrive in October..... very hard to get in contact with customer service and very little help offered to rectify the problem. Am unable to find product elsewhere so I find myself compelled to wait for it to arrive. Very poor customer service.

False advertising on shipping charges

I do not recommend ordering on-line from this company. Their ad about free shipping on orders over $100 is not correct. I placed an on-line order and all through my checkout and even to the confirmation page, I was told shipping would be free. When I got my order I was charged $15.90 shipping and handling. They said it was because the item I ordered was a "Limited Special" item and it carried shipping charges. No where once I added this item to my shopping cart did it say it was a 'Limited Special' item and shipping charges would apply. There is a note under their ordering info about shipping being charged on certain items, but once you put that item in your cart, the shipping should show up and it does not. I believe it is false advertising to show the shipping charges as 'free' if indeed that is not the case. I you want to order from them, I suggest ordering over the phone.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH!!!Worst online & purchasing experience ever!!  Poor customer service, you are dealing with someone on the other side of the world who cares zero about your order.  After placing order and them guaranteeing when they would ship and paying extra for overnight delivery, I received messages that the order would ship within 1 business day.  When I called to confirm, they didn't care about my shipping and tried to telemarket more services to me to guarantee that my original order would ship.  Then I cancelled the order and they told me it would take 10-14 days to put the amount back on my card, which was a very large amount of money (in excess of $2,000)WORST EVER!!!!!   How do they stay in business???

I called before ordering to affirm that there were 4 lights for the price of approximately $175.00. The rep tho't so, but would get back to me in less than 24 hrs. He did not. I called again, and that rep assured me that 4 lights were indeed what I would get. One light came. I called and was informed that only one light would be sent, I would have to pay nore the $525.00 for the other 3. It took about 3 calls and promises of a call back in 24 hrs that never came to get that info. I said I wanted to return the item that I had got, and not pay the 25% return charge. They would get back to me with a return number and confirmation that I wouldn't be charged the 25% return charge within 24 hrs. I am still waiting for that. I was polite and tried to jump through all their hoops. I am no longer feeling polite. Thanks, John

I contacted them a week after purchase to find out why it had not arrived, No one could get me an answer, the next day I was told it shipped Fed X, and it had been left. I checked and the package to this tracking # was shipped 6 months earlier. Then it took to long to get my money refunded to my card.

Using people in INDIA to handle all customer support is a nightmare. They do not speak U.S. kind of English. They consistently misunderstand the situation. For instance, they said my VISA card was denied. I called my VISA customer support and THEY SAID no one had even tried to make a charge on the card. This all went on for four days before it got straightened out. It was only fixed after I requested cancellation of the order. FRUSTRATING times 1000!!!!!!!

The shopping experience on the Internet was very enjoyable. The subsequent phone order was fulfilled very professionally and all my questions were answered without any followup phone calls. This is highly appreciated. As for the product purchased I am very happy with it. I only wish there was a means on your Survey e-mail to contact manufacturers of equipment purchased so that they could receive individuals comments and suggestions ie. I have an Idea and have performed some basic experimentation that could possibly be introduced into a product that could be highly beneficial to Humminbird.

The New Delhi call center people don't understand English very well. After trying for a long time to place an order I had to do it online. Then they told me the product would ship in the next few days. After a week they emailed and said the product was not in stock. I will not do business with this outfit ever again.

Ordered a Taylormade Ultima custom cover for my boat. I called a couple times to check the status of my order and customer service was no help at all, they could not provide me with any information as to why it was taking so long for the manufacturer to fill the order. 3 1/2 weeks after placing the order I received the wrong cover. The manufacturer sent a Hot Shot cover (cheaper model) instead of the Ultima. To resolve the problem they re-ordered and charged my credit card a sceond time and will not credit me back until they receive the Hot Shot cover back. This is not acceptbable customer service. I will not buy from Boatersworld or any Taylormade boat cover again. From my ordeal I have figured out that both companies cannot be trusted and don't provide the delivery times they advertise.

One place on order said delivery in 3 to 5 days.. Another place on order said 7 to 10 days and it took 14 days for delivery..... Don't know why....My boat was rained on several times while waiting on the cover...Nice cover when I finally did get it......

Customer Service was impossible. No phone calls were returned.On repeat calling I found one agent had no information of my previous calls. No supervisor ever 'available' when requested. English language ability of call-in center was terrible. Simply: NEVER AGAIN!

Was put on "hold" twice, by two different people, once for 15 minutes, the other for 10. Niether person seemed to know the product, the first put me on hold to transfer me to the second, but neglected to tell me that. The second person required me to start all over again with my order and information, then put me on hold again! I refuse to do business in the future with American companies that outsourse jobs to foreign countries. Boaters World has lost me as a customer, and I spend considerable dollars in the marine industry.
