Pros: Great Hotel Prices Cons: Tickets not worth the effort
Using Priceline for Airlines:
Priceline is not a deal for airline tickets. First most of their offers are never even filled so you cannot count on them to get you where you want to go. Second if they do accept your offer you have to fly when...

Pros: Great Prices Cons: Will Not Reimburse even if there is a death in the family. :(
I recently purchased 2 round trip tickets from Phoenix to Dallas on Priceline.com and have to say that I saved 50%!!! You can't get round trip tickets to Dallas from Phoenix for less than $300.00. Well, you guessed it, I named my price of $150 round...

Pros: Excellent price, e-ticket & e-mail confirmation in less than 1 hr. Cons: Non-refundable ticket
When shopping for discounts instead of quality, it never fails that as the price falls, so does the quality or dependability. I would never dream of buying a pair of no-name brand dress shoes from Wal-Mart and complain that they don't give me the...

Pros: Ease of use and quick response Cons: Russian Roulette
I have used Priceline.Com Three times.
The first one was a flight from San Antonio, Tx to Chicago. This one I have no complaints on. I started by "lowballing" and then moving up my bid on a regular basis until an airline finally...

Pros: get a good price with reservations, quick notification Cons: too final, only uses credit cards
There are quite a few nice qualities about this service for airline tickets. It is easy to use. That is one. You CAN get a good deal, that is two. I myself got a deal on tickets to Columbus, OH from Minneapolis, MN... a route that is oddly espensive (but...

Pros: Excellent chance of saving 50%, convenient to use Cons: Don't have control over brands you purchase
I have recently begun to purchase groceries at Priceline.com. There are pros and cons to doing this - as I will outline.
To begin using this service, make sure you have the Webhouse card activated. You can pick one up at the store or request...

Pros: If you like not knowing what you will be charged in the end, you'll love priceline! Cons: They prey on the bargain hunter in all of us.
1.The Priceline claim is misleading.
Priceline leads you to believe from their advertising that "you name your own price for airline tickets". This is untrue based on my experience. I named my price for 2 airline tickets to Ft....

Pros: Lowest price Cons: not sure exactly where your hotel will be
From the mouth of a hotel manager, regarding hotels and priceline, here is why you should use it:
The hotels base their rates on history, if they know on a particular day last year they had 24 empty rooms, and taking into consideration all...

Pros: easy to use, straightforward dealing Cons: once you're booked, no changing your mind
an excellent resource to explore. We booked 2 nights in Atlanta at the Westin for $45 a night! Go ahead, especially if you have a weekender that comes up on short notice. We put our bid in on Monday and were booked within an hour. We knew our first bid...

Pros: None Cons: EVERYTHING, particularly their customer service.
I had the need to make a sudden emergency trip to New York City. I could not use my air miles as there were no coach seats left. And I certainly did not have $1500 to throw down on a ticket. So, Priceline was a last resort. I checked all the ...

Pros: NONE Cons: No customer satisfaction consideration
Buyer Beware!! This service may offer discounted air travel, but you have no opportunity to review the purchase made on your behalf. Your flight could be scheduled for any time between 6:00a.m. and 10:00p.m., you could have stop overs anywhere in the...

Pros: Good deals available, great luxury hotels Cons: Stopovers, seat selection, bid resubmission changes
My first experience with Priceline was in December of '99. I wanted to take my wife to Disneyland in Anaheim. I bid on a trip from Denver - LA. I bid $175 per ticket and quickly got back a response that my bid had been accepted. Great! Then I...

Pros: Excellent Savings Cons: limited choices, can be time consuming
I used priceline.com to purchase some pet supplies and food. It was a great buy for kitty litter and for pet food especially if your pets are not picky. I saved 50% on most of my purchases as I used the bonus bucks. To get bonus bucks you have to look...

Pros: Tickets are inconvenient, almost as expensive as normal tickets, nontransferable, nonrefundable and totally useless. Cons: Very similar to the Pros, except with more expletives.
If I can just prevent one person out there from suffering the same fate I have met by using Priceline.com, my agony will be assuaged. I thought I would save a few bucks on a new years flight by allowing Priceline.com and all of its over-marketed hoopla...

Pros: None Cons: Under any circumstances, they will not let you cancel or change your reservation
Priceline sucks...and I'll tell you why.
First of all, let me tell you what priceline is good for so that I give a well balanced opinion. Priceline is good when you are unable to get a low price on airline tickets. For example, my family...
