Use the flight search tool, but do not buy unless you've compared prices with the airlines themselves. Travelocity tacks on a $15 per person charge.

I paid $10 to have to call India to get my airline confirmation # in order to reserve my seats at the airline website. On top of that since I used Travelocity I was not allowed to make a flight change directly with the airline. So after another call to India I discovered that through Tracelocity the flight change would be $1000+ where if I could have gone through the airline it would have been $130. Travelocity informed me that after my first flight I could then change the flight at the airline counter. So $10 was well worth this fun experience.

Travelocity--Bad experience/flight insurance? a scam

Tried to book a flight and signed up for flight insurance. First mistake...Was contacted by Travelocity the next day that the flight was unavailable and that no charges would be made on my behalf. My credit card was billed for flight insurance, however.
Thus began the major run-around. After numerous calls, emails, faxes, trying to get a straight answer about a credit for the charge, I am still getting nowhere. The right hand does not know anything about what the left is doing. I do not recommend using Travelocity as I would hate for anyone to go through this hassle for a larger refund than I am even requesting. Save yourself the potential headache!

I had THE WORST Experience with Travelocity, their customer support people DO NOT understand, or make mistakes, i bought tickets over the phone for my siter, and the guy (indian accent) booked it for MY name!

That's BAD. Than the other lady again from overseas told me that they are going to refund me my money, but i have to buy a whole new ticket at new prices... and it will take up to 30 days... Guess what? I did not recieve my money, apparantly SHE FORGOT TO FILE A REFUND for my ticket... so i call again after a month and 2 hours on the phone they tell me they are really sorry and they are going to file a refund and it will take up to 30 days.. STill waiting... That's a HORRIBLE service, 60 DAYS TO GET A REFUND??? No way i'm shopping there again.\

I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS SERVUCE TO ANYONE! Spend $5 more and buy somewhere else.

2 Strikes on Travelocity.

I was burned 2 days in a row by Travelocity. Not only did they blow my reservation yesterday, but when I was re-ticketed I had to pay $24.95 extra to get the tickets the next day. Well they did not come, and I will not be here when they will ostensibly arrive.

I was on hold tonight for 1 hour, after last night for 50 minutes.

We booked a vacation package (air and hotel) to Paris, France for a great rate.  The flights went smoothly, despite being booked as a Lufthansa codeshare flight back to the US for flight operated by United.
The problem arose with the hotel.  Apparently for this service, Travelocity uses a second site called lastminute.com.  Because of price differences, and "problems communicating" between the hotel's computer and the website, the hotel wanted to charge me and additional 18 euros per night for a 6 night stay.  After talking with lastminute.com (not Travelocity), this was reduced to an additional 30 euros total.
After coming home (I know, the wrong time to do this), I brought this up with Travelocity on their online submission site.  The money isn't so much the issue--the US$50 or so added a miniscule percentage to the cost of our trip.  My issue was with the fact that they have only sent an automated reply to my complaint, even 2 weeks after my original complaint.
Bottom line, everything was NOT right about my trip, and so far Travelocity has been silent.  I just consider myself lucky that the impact on my vacation was relatively minor.

Travelocity automatically adds Flight Protection Insurance (which doesn't actually do anything) to your bill for you.  When you remove it so it doesn't show up on your invoice, they just charge your credit card for you and email you a new invoice. 
If you are willing to pay the extra $20 per ticket for this, then go ahead and use Travelocity.  Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

I booked a direct flight on USAIR through Travelocity from Philadelphia to St Thomas. I make it a practice to check for lower fares after I book, because sometimes you can get them to cough-up the difference. I noticed a fare drop on the USAIR webpage and could get to the last screen booking it through them. However, when I went back to Travelocity it no longer listed USAIR flights to St Thomas and had only indirect flights via American Airlines for over $100 more.

Today Tavelocity lost my money because of their bait and switch

The lure was set, a great price; not as low as I wanted but lower than anyone else. My research time and efforts generally pay off so I checked with my checkbook (my wife) and she said, "go!"-I clicked my departure time then my return time and clicked to confirm. What Happened? My wonderful deal more than doubled with a single click. Where did it Go?? Bait and switch by the Travelocity Carnie. So I went to an airline directly and purchased my ticket for $300 less than their inflated, last second switch-o-rooney. Thanks for nothing Travelocity. It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it makes me frustraited and I spend my money elsewhere.

NEVER-EVER use this website for flight bookings.

I booked three seats from New Delhi to Memphis using TRAVELOCITY.COM on May 29th, 2008. My nightmare started the moment I booked my flights using this website. They showed different price for the tickets and deducted lot more extra from my credit card. To get my extra money back I had to write to the Department of Justice, Atlanta, then only the custmoer care listened otherwise they just kept me giving false information and asking my bank statement, this document and that document.
I would suggest to fellow passengers NEVER EVER use TRAVELOCITY.COM. In my whole life I will NEVER EVER use this website for booking flight tickets and will never ever suggest to my friends and and relatives for using this website. They are so rude, impolite, corrupt and thieves (they stole my money)..

Excellent. I have purchased airline tickets on Travelocity about five times now; each time has been a success. Travelocity has the best prices; I have always found them cheaper on this website than on the individual airline website. Travelocity is easy to use. The website is easy to navigate, the payment system works well, customer service is helpful, the e-tickets are delivered instantaneously. I recommend this to all my friends and family and often buy plane tickets for them through this service.

Great experience all around!
First, their flights were extremely cheap, the speed of delivery was instantaneous, customer service was excellent and I was very satisfied overall.
The website was not difficult to use either!

I booked a summer vacation with Travelocity and had a few questions to ask them after I booked my itinerary. I was transferred to three different people, none of which had the slightest clue as to what I was taking about, and I have a M.A. in speech from an Ivy League university!

All three people sounded as they were from India. Nothing personal against the Indians, but I believe that these jobs should be kept right here in the good old USA so that if we have any questions we will be able to effectively communicate with someone who can speak comprehensible English. This outsourcing of jobs HAS TO STOP!

Travelocity is the best online travel agency. Tickets are purchased quickly and easily with an agent over the phone or on the internet. Customer service rules, unless you speak with an agent in India. But if you get someone in India on the phone, just hang up and call back.

You get what you pay for...No customer service skills at all. Different policies for changes made to reservations. One manager ( "Allen") told us that we would be charged a fee each time we changed our reservation, but could not change our reservation more than once. He specifically stated that we would lose all of our money we paid for the vacation package (over $2000). When changes were supposedly made, customer service stated that we had to make international phone calls and make sure that Travelocity made the changes--what??? Our friends called and received a totally different response about the change policy. Book aavacations or expedia. Travelocity is the worst online travel experience ever. That market is too competitive to book with a second rate operator.
