While I saved a lot of money booking a flight and a hotel together, the customer service I received after I purchased the ticket was AWFUL! It was the first (and last) time that I had ever used them and called just to see if it was possible to take an earlier flight home. The customer service agent kept me on hold for a very long time while they "accessed my file" and was incredibly rude when I asked about the changes. I was told that it would be "really expensive" and he was very hostile when I asked him to define very expensive. After being put on hold again, I was told that it would be more than the cost of the trip and I would be "crazy" to make changes. When I originally asked, a simple "let me find out how much the change will be" would have been sufficient without the rotten attitude. I would definitely not be booking with them again. Other services offer the same prices without the unreasonable hostile attitude.
Horrible! This is not an e-travel, this is FRAUD !!! by notravelocity ,Nov 27 '04
Stay away from Travelocity !
I have booked "fligh+hotel" package thru Travelocity.com.
We flu to our dream vacation from New Ark, NJ to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Upon arravial to Punta Cana, we were told by locals that the hotel is 300 miles (9 hour drive on local roads) away.
Me, my wife and hour 3 kids (inlcluding 1 year-old) were trapped in Punta Cana airport without basic amenities for 5 hours! All this time I was anxiuosly trying to read Travelocity rep. I have used my credit card to call. Three times in a middle of our conversation, the Travelocity Rep would just simply hang up the phone! Finaly, I was able to arrange the flight to Puerto Plata. This cost me additional $1000 dollars.
I purchased paper tickets via Travelocity, e'tickets were not available for my flights. Agents commited mistake in delivery address and stated wrong country code for delivery address. THere is been 11 days for now, I am calling every single day, nobody can tell me if the tickets were sent, nobody knows a thing there. I send claims via email, but no ansers. I called on Monday to ask for FEDEX shipping number, the answer was: We promise that during 48 hours you will receive it, so 2 days later the sam answer was given, and so each time I call. This is the worst expirience I ever had. I always use Expedia, this was my first time with Travelocity, but unfortunately it became a torture.
Nothing can possibly describe my $2000 loss !!!!!! by loeschen ,Jul 01 '08
Are you kidding me !!!!! how can any one be happy.
They never told us that an airline went out of business, as a matter of fact they sent us an itinerary the week before with the out of business airline. We checked 24 hours before departure and the out of business airline was still on there. Wait that is not all, we also purchased Travel Insurance. They don't cover that and you actually get treated like a piece of you know what.
To cut a long story short, we added another $2000 !!!!! to the $1600 to fly to Maui !
Flight Insurance is a Joke... so is Travelocity. by feendog ,May 28 '08
We had purchased tickets through Travelocity for a big trip to Hawaii. Due to the expensive tickets, we purchased travel insurance just to be safe.
Well lo & behold the airline on which we were flying went bankrupt. Most "partner airlines" (like Southwest) were rebooking affected passengers for free. We called Travelocity to see what they could do. Nada. Zilch. Zero. We had to pay for new tickets home, at the "last-minute" super expensive rate.
At the time, Travelocity said that the flight insurance we'd purchased would result in a refund, for at least the unused amount (half)... but we'd have to wait a couple billing cycles. Two months later, no refund. Repeated calls, same message... just wait & the refund will be processed. no avail. Now a Travelocity manager says that it's a special case & the insurance doesn't apply. Liars.
Never use Travelocity. They are outdated & under-serviced, especially when compared to other sites (Expedia, Orbitz). And the insurance? Dream on.
Travelocity customer service is appalling by lizagreenberg ,Mar 06 '07
Travelocity is a disaster. I highly recommend avoiding it at all costs. I booked a multi-city trip for 4 people. Then I got an email saying that I have to call them because the flights have changed. But, surprize, you can't get through to customer service. Today was my lucky day. I have give up twice before after 45 minute waits with the worlds most annoying hold chatter, but today, after a mere 20 minutes of hold, I got someone. They were clueless and unapologetic, of course, but they did manage to get me a semiacceptable flight. It's annoying that they won't communicate by email, they don't offer flight options, it's impossible to get through to customer service, and they aren't helpful. End result: I will never use travelocity again, and I hope you don't either!
Travelocity is the worst! If you have a problem you are out of luck, First of all you have to wait for hours to speak with someone try doing that in mexico. They give out fax numbers for complaints that dont work. They tell you they will call you back and help but they never call back. Then when you call them back and ask for the person who was helping you they don"t exist!!!!!!!!!!!!STAY AWAY FROM TRAVELOCITY
