I've been a MyPoints member now for a year and a half- ever since I interviewed for the company (they wanted to offer me a sales asst position and I balked at the idea! Oh silly me and the offer included stock options!)
Anyway I am almost at 10,000 points- my goal is to get the $100 gift certificate at circuit city (i need a new discman). They have a lot of good prizes, mostly gift certificates.
It's been slow going for me getting those points cause I haven't actually spent much or shopped much which is how you earn your points more quickly.
I've been taking the short route there- visiting web sites (10 points each), going to talkcity.com to take a few polls (5 points each). Sometimes I'll register for a site which will give me a few hundred points and then I'll never go back to the site again! I'll order a magazine from enews- one of their partners and get 200 points for that.
I would like to do more shopping on their site so I can earn more points but they don't have the shopping sites I like, like Yahoo does (they have their own points reward system too) like the Gap, Victoria's Secret, Macy's etc. Now during the holidays instead of getting 2 points for every dollar you spent on MyPoints, they give you 4! Too bad they don't have some better stores :(
