I decided to give Mobshop a try when I saw they had a DVD I wanted on sale for under 50% of its retail price. I breezed my way through the registration and placed my order. The site was well-organized, and I spent some time browsing through, finding several other items that I might purchase if this initial purchase worked out. Then I sat back and waited for the purchase to arrive.
It was to be a long wait. Two weeks after the projected delivery date, I finally got a package - not marked with MobShop's name, but apparently drop-shipped from a third party. Figuring that the shipping delay was acceptable considering the price, I opened the package to find the wrong video.
What followed was an incredible example of ineptitude. I spent more time on line with MobShop customer reps and managers than I can now detail, trying to arrange a return for replacement. After a month and a half of repeated promises to send a return label, UPS suddenly showed up at my office one day, unannounced, prepared to pick up the package. Eventually we figured out that MobShop had called UPS to request a pick-up, but had failed to provide either of us the necessary address or account information so the return could be processed. Yet another call to MobShop later, the package was finally on its way, and I had hopes of finally getting my disc.
Those hopes rapidly dimmed and disappeared as another month went by without my replacement making an appearance.
Ultimately it took me nearly THREE MONTHS, and a threat to contest the charge with my credit card company, before Mob shop credited my account for a lousy $10 purchase. I feel sorry for anyone who had to deal with them for a significant purchase.
Good deals, they may have, as well as quality products. But a company with customer service as bad as MobShop has proven to have is not worth my money.
