Freeshop.com – what is it?
Well, yes, everything at freeshop.com is free. However, I must say, it has to be the site on the Internet I like the least. It’s so appealing, the way they advertise thousands of things for free. And what college student doesn’t love a site full of free stuff?
What is it really
Freeshop.com is a site with thousands of free trial offers, and a ton of free subscriptions to email newsletters. In my book, however this site is a great domain name that tricks people into visiting an advertising giant.
Who hasn’t seen the banner, and clicked on it at least once. And anyone with any web experience spends 5 minutes there and is aghast at the lack of free stuff offered. Ok, I guess they don’t lie, there are free offers, but I feel that there are very few valuable free offers.
Is there a good side to this site?
I always try to present both sides to every story when I write an epinion. I have to say, I dislike this site so much, it’s hard to find a positive side. It does do an amazing job marketing and drawing hits to the site. What it offers is lacking, in my opinion, but if I gained anything from this site it’s the amazing power of a good domain name and anyone offering anything for free (especially on the web) will draw visitors.
I would bet their return rate and actual time spent on the site is poor, however, as I don’t feel that their content is worthwhile to the average web savvy person who would avoid their spam, er… I mean “free” newsletters.

This site is a wasted of time. I feel so strongly about it, I wish I could form some anti freeshop group. I just hate sites that have the chance to offer something worthwhile, and instead seem to offer me spam in a pretty package.
