No Tricks. Just The Facts, Ma'am

Problem with my program deleting paragraph breaks. Will insert *s where they should occur.***Let me preface this by saying I'm a smoker. With that said, let me also tell you, firsthand, about the affects of smoking. I'm going to approach the subject through the life of someone suffering emphysema - my daddy.***He's been a smoker for over 40yrs. for the past 10, he's been fighting emphysema. Right now, he's in the ICU unit of the hospital on a ventilator with tubes feeding him and more tubes sucking the tar black phlem from his lungs into cannisters. IV fluids are coursing through his veins 3 bags at a time. He's swollen from the duretics and is on a catheter. This is his second time in this position since May of this year.***Could this situation have been avoided? Well, yeah - had he quit smoking 10yrs ago when they told him to. Even if he'd quit smoking at any point during his illness. He chose not to. With this said, I know you're thinking "And you're still smoking?" Yes, I am. I should quit, yes. Will I? It's doubtful. This should be a wake up call to me - to all of the smokers reading this. Will it be? Well, one can only hope.
